Music
Colorblind & Daltonic were primarily the same band. We needed to change the name due to a conflict with another band. Daltonic was a better name anyway.
In 1992, Daltonic recorded a 4 song demo “Revolution Wind” (Skott Wade - vocals, Brian Hull - drums, Jon D’Uva - Guitar, Mike Issler - Bass & Guitar).
1. Mercy, 2.Grain of Sand, 3.Countdown, 4.Hard.
Hard was later released on a Suburban Voice 7″ compilation w/ Verbal Assault & Shattered Silence.
June of 1993, Daltonic (Skott Wade - vocals, Brian Hull - drums, Jon D’Uva - Guitar, Tim Cabana - Bass) once again went into the studio and recorded 4 new songs for a 7″ which was released in 1994 on Suburban Voice.
1. The Blind Lead the Blind, 2. Rebound, 3. Brothers and Sisters, 4. Sunset.
January 1994, Daltonic (Skott Wade - vocals, Brian Hull - drums, Jon D’Uva - Guitar, Tim Cabana - Bass) re-recorded Grains of Sand along with 2 new songs for our 2nd 7″ which was released later in 1994 by David Grenier on his old Vigilance Records label.
1. Rhinestone, 2. Grains of Sand, 3. Effort.
June-July 1994, Daltonic went on the “Lookin’ for Luv” US tour. The guitarist at the time Jon D’Uva was the only person with the forethought of realizing how bad the tour was going to be and he declined to go with us. Therefore Skott kicked him out of the band, Tim Cabana played guitar and Aaron Dalbec of Converge fame played bass for us during the tour. Our van broke down in Las Vegas and after losing 75 cents in a slot machine my gambling experience in Vegas was over. We rented a van to finish the tour costing the band (meaning me) many, many hundreds of dollars. I still have yet to be paid back. Thanks guys!
The experience of being in Daltonic was awesome, my first “real band”. And in 1995, the band went it’s separate ways. Several years later Skott reformed the band with completely new members and wrote all new music, I’m still wondering why they were called Daltonic.
Holdstrong was the next band I was in. I joined them in the Spring of 1995 because they needed to replace their drummer. I learned all their songs in a week and we started playing shows. It was a short lived experience because I continuously played the songs differently, adding my own “flair” to the music. I was replaced within 2 months due to musical differences. I was a punk rock / hardcore drummer and they were a metal band. I never recorded any music with them, but fortunately, I became good friends with the guitarist Bill Cole, and he played bass in my next band……
138. Yes, without a doubt the band who’s music I loved the most. Formed in the Summer of 1995 with only 2 members, myself on drums and Brian Bardsley on guitar. We quickly wrote our first 4 songs. Eventually we picked up Bill from Holdstrong (read above) to play bass, and Rasheed Hale (eventually to go on to Close Call) to sing. We recorded a 5 song demo on our friend’s 4 track. The sound quality was horrible (sounds like we were in a closet…. underwater), but the music just ripped. We played maybe a total of 10 shows, and after a few short months Brian wanted to leave the band in order to form Fall From Grace with another friend of mine JR Moore.
1. I Despise, 2. Never Again, 3.Your Maker is Me, 4. Ignorance (Isn’t Bliss), 5. Suffer
In late 1995, I joined Corrin. Corrin was unlike any other band I had ever played in before. They were a metal band with incredible dynamics, and it was a lot harder for me to learn their songs, due to the technical aspects of the music. They were also a lot more serious about the band than any other one I’ve been in, specifically due to a desire by 1/2 the members to make money off the band. This was a source of conflict as the other 1/2 of the band didn’t care and just wanted to make music. In 1996 we recorded 4 songs which were never released until after the band broke up. The demise of the band was entirely my fault, as I was convinced by my girlfriend at the time to move to CT to live with her. In late 1998 the songs were released on a CD by Propaganda Machine.
1.Violated, 2. Pariah, 3.Unremission, 4.Lifeless, 5. Winter Souls, 6.Distance, 7. A Life of My Own, 8.Seed of Cain, 9.Plutonian Shores.
After a several year hiatus, my old friend Chris Casali (formally from Corrin) called me to join The Game. An incredibly fun band to be in. A bunch of 20 something straight-edge kids hanging out playing old school straight-edge hardcore music. We recorded a bunch of songs for a 7″, but due to financial problems, we were never able to mix it. The songs here are the rough unmixed recording, but it’s all good! 7 song, 7 minutes, just the way punk music should be.
1. Intro, 2. Bound for Hate, 3.Hit and Run, 4. Worse for Wear, 5. You Gave Up, 6. Resident Evil, 7. Against the Grain
